Day Three started really really early at 2:30am. We were picked up at the hotel and driven to the top of Haleakalā (10,023 ft above sea level), a dormant volcano, to see the sun rise. This picture is pretty much as good as it got. It was just above freezing and raining at the summit.
After missing the sunrise we drove down a a little ways to where it was a little dryer. From there, we biked down the volcano 26 miles which goes pretty fast down hill. We saw some much better views.
